This two-part Endurance Running Workshop Series is designed for beginner to intermediate runners looking to build stamina, improve performance, and gain a clearer understanding of how to train effectively.
Across two in-depth and practical sessions, you’ll explore the science and strategy behind endurance running, giving you the tools to train smarter, not just harder. Whether you’re preparing for an event or simply want to feel more confident in your running, this workshop will help you unlock your potential.
What you’ll gain:
• A clear understanding of the different types of endurance running and how to use them in your training
• Insight into key physiological concepts such as VO₂ max and lactate threshold—and how to improve them
• Practical guidance on structuring your training for consistent progress
• Expert tips on running technique, including posture, cadence, stride efficiency, and breathing
• Strategies to improve performance while reducing the risk of injury
To help you put everything into action, you’ll also receive a structured 6-week endurance training plan, guiding you step-by-step from building a solid aerobic base through to incorporating more advanced sessions such as intervals and tempo runs.
This is more than just a workshop – it’s a complete introduction to running with purpose, designed to give you confidence, clarity, and long-term progress.
Whether you’re just starting out or looking to take your running to the next level, this series will set you up for success.
Wednesday 8th April 9.00 – 10.00: Cable Foundations: Technique & Total Body Control
This introductory workshop is perfect for members who want to build confidence using the cable machine. PT Josh will guide participants through the fundamentals of cable training, focusing on posture, alignment, and controlled movement. Guests will learn how to adjust the machine correctly, select appropriate weights, and perform key full-body exercises such as cable squats, rows, and presses. The session emphasises time under tension and control, helping members understand how cables can provide constant resistance and improve overall movement quality.
Wednesday 13th May 9.00 – 10.00: Sculpt & Strengthen: Upper Body Cable Training
This workshop focuses on developing upper body strength and muscle definition using the cable machine. PT Josh will coach participants through targeted exercises for the chest, back, shoulders, and arms, including cable flyes, lat pulldowns, face pulls, and triceps pushdowns. The session highlights how cables allow for a greater range of motion and continuous tension, making them highly effective for hypertrophy and joint-friendly training. Members will also learn how to structure a balanced upper body workout using cables.
Wednesday 10th June 9.00 – 10.00: Core & Conditioning: Functional Cable Training
This dynamic workshop combines core training with functional, movement-based exercises to improve stability, coordination, and overall fitness. PT Josh will introduce rotational and anti-rotational movements such as cable woodchops, Pallof presses, and resisted lunges. The session also incorporates conditioning elements, using the cable machine to elevate heart rate while maintaining strength output. This workshop is ideal for members looking to enhance core strength, reduce injury risk, and translate gym training into real-life movement.
All workshops will be in the gym. Free to attend. Limited to 6 people per workshop.
