Wednesday 15th April 12.00 – 13.00: Legs & Shoulders – Strength and Stability with Dumbbells
Focus: Lower-body strength and shoulder stability
This workshop combines lower-body training with shoulder strength to build full-body stability and control. Members will learn how to safely perform key leg exercises alongside controlled shoulder movements, improving balance, coordination and joint support. The session emphasizes strong foundations, helping participants move efficiently while developing strength through both the lower body and upper frame.
Key movements covered:
- Goblet squats
- Dumbbell Romanian deadlifts
- Lunges and step-ups
- Dumbbell shoulder press and lateral raises
Outcome: Improved lower-body strength, enhanced shoulder stability and better overall movement control.
Wednesday 20th May 12.00 – 13.00 in the Gym: Chest & Triceps – Upper-Body Push Strength
Focus: Chest, triceps and pressing mechanics
This workshop focuses on pushing movements using dumbbells to strengthen the chest and triceps while supporting shoulder health. Members will be coached on correct pressing technique, alignment and breathing to maximise strength gains and reduce injury risk. The session also introduces unilateral work to improve muscular balance and core engagement.
Key movements covered:
- Dumbbell chest press (bench or floor)
- Incline dumbbell press
- Close-grip dumbbell press
- Dumbbell triceps extensions
Outcome: Stronger pushing mechanics, improved upper-body strength and greater confidence with dumbbell training.
Wednesday 17th June 12.00 – 13.00 in the Gym: Back & Biceps – Strength, Posture and Pulling Power
Focus: Back strength, posture and arm development
This workshop highlights the importance of pulling movements for posture, spinal support and balanced strength. Using dumbbells, members will learn how to activate the back muscles effectively while incorporating biceps work to support overall pulling strength. Emphasis is placed on technique and control to reduce strain and improve performance.
Key movements covered:
- Dumbbell rows (single-arm and bent-over)
- Dumbbell deadlift patterns
- Reverse fly variations
- Dumbbell bicep curls
Outcome: Better posture, stronger back and arms, and improved confidence in pulling exercises.
