Paths to inner peace

Walking at Forest Mere

Set in enchanting grounds, Champneys enjoys a secluded lakeside location surrounded by beautiful Hampshire countryside.
Forest Mere enjoys a rich heritage. Originally a Hunting Lodge and Keepers House for the Royal Forest of Woolmer, Forest Mere has experienced some interesting previous owners. From captains of the Grenadier Guards to captains of industry.

During WW2 the house was utilised as a wrenery for the Royal Navy Service and then as a convalescent home for Canadian forces. After the war, the Chaplin family took up residence but the estate was sold by auction to a group of businessmen headed by Ken Wood, of Kenwood food mixer fame, who turned Forest Mere into a health farm. It was purchased by The Purdew family in 1995, and is now a much cherished part of the Champneys estate.
