The Pranic Body, the Physical Body & the Positive Mind

Claire will introduce you to the elevating experience of Kundalini Yoga, an ancient and sacred yoga stream known as the Yoga of Awareness.

If you feel you need a restorative dose of inner healing and the space to reconnect with your true self, this retreat will give you a sense of balance, a deeper inner connection, and will set your foundation to achieve what it is that you aspire to.
Kundalini Yoga, the Yoga of Awareness is an ancient yoga stream from Northern India, only recently shared with the West in 1969.  The concept of Kundalini Yoga has been around since 1,000BC.

Kundalini derives from the Sanskrit word “kundal’, which means ‘circular’ and its spiralling energy is referred to as a coiled snake, situated at the base of the spine. With a regular practice of Kundalini Yoga, we can harmonise the Chakra System releasing emotional blocks within the subconscious. This contributes to a higher sense of consciousness, a harmonious sense of well-being, an increased creativity & vitality and both physical and mental flexibility much needed for these constantly changing times.

Indeed, it is the ‘experience’ of a Kundalini Yoga class that is the ‘difference’, if it is to be compared to other yoga streams.

About Claire

Claire previously worked in the aviation industry and as an interior designer. Through her yogic journey, she has qualified as a Kundalini Yoga teacher in 2019, a Children’s Yoga teacher in 2021 and in June 2022 she qualified to teach KundaDance, a creative movement class that includes Kundalini Yoga, Tai Chi and Qi Gong.

This year, Claire will begin Sacred Yoga Therapy Training to enhance her offering in supporting others with their physical, emotional and mental well-being and health.

She began practicing yoga in October 2017 when she attended a Kundalini Yoga class at Champneys, Forest Mere. She felt that there was a lot more to learn and to understand about Kundalini Yoga and so enrolled on a 200 hour teacher training course in 2018.

The course was deeply transformational on multiple levels and following the student’s delivery of a Kundalini Yoga Retreat weekend, which was offered to the public, the ‘energy’ that Claire experienced led her to finding a venue to share this transformative & powerfully healing yoga to others. Claire has also continued to share Kundalini Yoga at Champneys since 2020. During lockdown, she offered four classes online and a free weekly meditation evening to support others through the pandemic.

Claire currently teaches Kundalini Yoga, Child Yoga and KundaDance to adults and primary school aged children. She is also a qualified Life Coach.

Retreat inclusions

How does it work?

You will begin your day with an introduction to the Ten Subtle Bodies, which include the three minds, the soul body and the subtle body. By practicing a pranayama series (breath work) for the Pranic Body you will feel both energised and uplifted, alongside stimulating the circulatory system and expanding the magnetic field to prepare for a Meditation.

Before lunch you will work on the Physical Body with a set of asanas to set your foundation in the physical realm, followed by a 55-minute KundaDance class; a creative movement workout that is both liberating and fun, connecting you to your inner child by combining elements of Kundalini Yoga, Tai Chi, Qi Gong and Mantra. You will conclude the morning with a Meditation to connect to our boundlessness.

Following a three-course lunch you will be free to use the Spa facilities and enjoy the beautiful surroundings or enjoy a beauty treatment. To begin the afternoon practice, you will draw in the Sun Energy to bring us energy and optimism and this will be followed by the Kriya for the Positive Mind that will help you to strengthen your projection and will to achieve the goals of the Positive Mind.

To finish you will unlock the Heart Centre to increase the Infinite power within. The day will close with the deep healing vibrations of the Earth Gong which cuts through the mind waves, leaving you in a blissful state ready to practice a Meditation with Mantra and a spiralling visualisation to help us prioritise what we need to sacrifice in order to achieve the goals of the Positive Mind.
