FAQs

Contrast therapy is the practice of moving between heat and cold, in this case a wood-fired sauna and a cold plunge, followed by a period of recovery. The shift between hot and cold is what makes it feel so invigorating, and it is the heart of the Champneys Contrast Reset experience.

Not at all. This experience is designed for complete beginners as much as seasoned regulars. Every step is explained and guided by our coaches, so you can simply relax and follow along.

Absolutely. No previous cold-water experience is needed. The whole point of a guided session is that you are supported throughout, so you can enjoy it with confidence.
The plunge is set at a temperature chosen so everyone can feel the benefits while staying comfortable and in control. Your coach guides you in gradually, and you are always in charge of your own experience.
Yes. We have both male and female coaches on the team, so you will always feel comfortable and well looked after throughout your session.
Sessions are kept small, with only eight places each, so the experience feels relaxed, personal and unhurried.
Your wellbeing comes first. Every guest completes a short health declaration before taking part, and our coaches are cold water qualified and first-aid trained. If you have a health condition, please let us know so we can advise.
