Lesley Sofflet and Ruth Dance started teaching fitness classes in 1993 they both teach in Surrey and London where they have built up a strong professional reputation in private health clubs and community classes in both Barre and Pilates.
Lesley and Ruth strive to continually update their personal development and attend various courses and workshops to enhance and improve their teaching skills throughout the year.
They like to bring fun and laughter to their classes and encourage people to push themselves that little bit further; students leave feeling confident in their achievements.
What It's All About
Lesley will lead a Barre class which incorporate simple ballet-inspired exercises, incorporating a ballet barre and maybe some plies and demi pointe here and there into the workout. Essentially, barre classes mix elements of Pilates, dance, yoga and functional training, and the moves are choreographed to motivating music. This class is done in bare feet or non-slip socks.
Pilates is taught after lunch by Ruth which will include traditional Pilates exercise which concentrate on strengthening the body with an emphasis on core strength. This helps to improve general fitness and overall well-being. Pilates concentrates on posture, balance and flexibility as well as a mind-body connection.
Yoga Flow is a Tai Chi, Yoga and Pilates workout that is set to powerful uplifting music that builds flexibility & strength, leaving you feeling centred and calm. Controlled breathing, concentration and a carefully structured series of stretches, moves & poses provides a holistic workout that brings the body into a state of harmony and balance, a perfect finish to the end of the day.
Commences with an optional invigorating walk allowing you to enjoy the beautiful scenery surrounding Forest Mere.
Lesley will then lead a second Barre class followed by a Soft Ball Pilates class taught by Ruth.
The weekend finishes with a Stretch and Stillness session to leave you feeling relaxed and recharged for the week ahead.
