This short break will give your body a boost in the right direction and make you feel enlivened, stretched as well as relaxed. Suitable for any ability, the two extended workshops taught by Senior Iyengar Yoga teacher, Rachel Lovegrove, will be aimed at those wanting to test their boundaries in yoga in a safe and intelligent way leaving participants with a feeling of new energy and enhanced possibilities in their practice, posture and understanding of yoga and the benefits it can bring them.
Rachel Lovegrove is a Senior Certified Iyengar Yoga teacher with over 20 years’ experience of teaching and practice. She studied directly with BKS Iyengar and his senior teachers and runs sell-out retreats in Portugal, Italy, Ireland and the UK.
Her teaching style is grounded in a tradition of providing yoga for everybody, no matter the age or ability and all poses are tailored to suit the needs of the individual. She has a humorous and down to earth approach and makes sure even the most nervous of participants feels secure and able to relax and enjoy the yoga practice.
Iyengar yoga focuses on alignment of the body within the postures to bring about the most beneficial effects, sequencing to allow progression from one pose to the next, safely and steadily, and the use of props to either enhance the effects or to help those who have difficulties or challenges. The details and techniques involved also give the mind focus, clarity and peace.
I had seen a number of physios and experts from around the world, but none had really been able to help, after a few sessions with Rachel, my back pain started to decrease and I eventually gave up taking pain killers and was able to walk without pain.
