Jason Ellis is one of the world’s leading sleep experts. A Professor in Psychology at Northumbria University and Director of the Northumbria Centre for Sleep Research, he’s spent the majority of his life’s work understanding and improving people’s sleep. He’s Champneys resident sleep expert and a man Jamie Oliver has described as a “super-dude”.
What’s it all about?
Jason’s two-night Sleep Retreat aims to help you to understand the reasons for your sleep problems and to learn methods to tackle them in order to get the optimum amount each night.
According to Jason, we need about eight hours of shut-eye per night in order to feel the full restorative benefits. However, the average Briton has just six-and-a-half hours. We have fast become a nation of under-sleepers. Poor sleep can affect people’s mood and ability to carry out everyday tasks. Reasons for poor sleep can include irregular sleeping patterns, stress, not having time to switch off and thinking about work before bed.
You’ll take part in a combo of six sleep treatment sessions, enjoy aromatherapy massage and take away a copy of Jason’s informative handbook on how to enjoy successful sleep at home. You’ll also have access to our gym, fitness classes and spa facilities – plus healthy breakfasts, lunches and dinners.
