Great news for beauty education and the Spa and Beauty industry

For 40 years Champneys has been offering training to beauty therapists seeking to obtain the coveted international CIDESCO qualification. This has only been available to students who can afford the private fees.

Working with ITEC, Champneys have now secured a similarly comprehensive qualification offering all aspects of beauty training at level 2, 3 and 4 called the Diploma in Beauty and Spa Therapy.

Champneys courses are all externally examined to international standards – over the last four years the examiners have passed 100% of students. This is due to the hard work of students and teachers but also the methods applied by the College to ensure the development of skills to industry standards.

For the first time students will be able to access government funds via the new Advanced Learner Loan to gain access to a Champneys training with the high standards giving them an advantage in gaining employment in some of the most prestigious positions in the beauty industry.

Past students have gone on to work on Celebrity yachts and in prestigious hotels, become beauty product developers, high street salon owners, Spa directors and makeup artists. A past student who graduated in 1986 recently brought her daughter to visit during a stay at the resort – she had gone on to run her own business and had made a million pounds out of her training at the College. Now this opportunity could be available to anyone with aspirations of succeeding in the beauty industry.

The advantage of the Advanced Learner Loan is that it is not means tested therefore it is open to everyone over the age of 19. The loan is not paid back until you are earning over £21,000 and this is paid back up to 9% of your salary. If your income falls below £21,000 through unemployment, or a career break, payments are paused and then you can start repaying when your income goes up. Any outstanding loan balance could be written off after 30 years or when you retire.

Champneys College successes are achieved through the fast pace and full immersion into their courses. Complete the Level 3 Diploma in 8 months (full time, five days a week) or complete in 14 months (part time, three days a week).

The First intake will start on 19th September 2016. Second intake April 2017.

Champneys College is looking for motivated students with the drive to succeed in the beauty industry. All graduates are guaranteed employment at any of the Champneys resorts or Day Spas.

Rachel Halling Principal at the College says “this is a very exciting time for Champneys and the College, we will now be able to offer our highly regarded training to everyone.
