and a popular feature on the Champneys activity
calendar. Using specifically designed walking poles which
makes walking more comfortable, Nordic Walking can
burn off 20 per cent more calories than normal walking
at the same speed. A great all round workout.

Get motivated, get fit and get a taste of the great outdoors. Discover Britain’s natural heritage with a South Downs Walking & Spa Experience Break led by Chapters Experience Holidays or three-night Wildlife Watching with Nature Trek retreat at Champneys Forest Mere. Combining the freedom of walking or nature holiday with a healthy slice of pampering goodness.
South Downs Walking & Spa Experience Break led by Chapters Experience Holidays
Your first full day will be spent walking from Thursley through the Devil’s Punchbowl, some of the finest scenery on the South Downs. The scenery here is beautiful and the local folklore and legend adds some colour to proceedings. The hotel’s impressive grounds are large enough to enjoy Nordic Walking on your second full day. The terrain is ideal and there is plenty of space for everyone.
The day before departure the Chapters Experience Holiday leader will provide you with a gentle yoga class leaving the afternoon free to make the most of the spa facilities. You also have plenty of time for any spa treatments you may have pre-booked including the inclusive thalassotherapy pool session or simply to enjoy the calm comfort of the resort and surroundings.
3 Night Wildlife Watching with Nature Trek Retreat
Based at the Champneys Forest Mere spa resort we will enjoy daily outings and gentle walks, our primary aim to watch and learn about the birds of the area as well as to enjoy the other wildlife in the area. Woodlarks, Dartford Warblers, Adders and butterflies such as Silver-studded Blues are among the species we will be hoping to see. There are Nightjars breeding near our accommodation, so there will also be an option to hear and see this special species. We’ll explore the local heaths and downland whilst also visiting coastal habitats during our stay.
