4 Night Living Well with your Symptoms
Symptoms which do not appear to have any medical explanation including pain are extremely common chronic conditions, for example headache; backache; cardiac pain; skin condition; IBS; fibromyalgia; ME; breathing problems; palpitations; nausea; abdominal pain. They affect people of all ages, often amplified by stress or feeling low. They reduce quality of life and functioning in everyday activities, developing gradually over time. It is estimated that 30-50% of adults visiting their GP have these common symptoms resulting in frequent visits and hospital appointments.
The course, based on pioneering research at the University of Hertfordshire, has been developed by internationally recognised experts in Health Psychology and Wellbeing and is approved by the Department of Health and proven in the NHS. It will be tailor-made for you in relation to exercises to improve your condition so that you can self-manage in the future. Wellbeing care and support will be offered by our dedicated health professional facilitator with the aim to change attitudes towards, and perceptions of, your symptoms. If you have any specific medical related questions about the programme, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
