Medical Director - Dr Michael Curtin
Dr Michael Curtin is Champneys Medical Director, he trained at Sheffield University Medical School and qualified in 1984, he then went on to do Vocational Training and became a full time NHS GP in 1989 and has over 20 years' experience in General Practice. Dr Curtin is also an expert in Acupuncture, after an intense period of study he obtained a Diploma in Acupuncture from the British Medical Acupuncture Society. His understanding of Acupuncture was deepened by two extended trips to Japan where he was able to spend time observing Acupuncture Masters at work.
Dr Curtin is also currently involved in a research programme, looking at the latest techniques for treating women with fertility problems using Acupuncture. As a practicing Doctor, he believes that "alternative medicine" does not take the place of orthodox medicine, but that it can work alongside it in a complementary and integrated manner.
